What you need to know

1. Bookings and Payment

1.1. Bookings must be paid in full upon reservation to confirm your place.

1.2. Prices are listed in Australian Dollars (AUD) inclusive of GST unless stated otherwise.

1.3. Payments must be made via our secure online booking system. A confirmation email will follow successful payments.

2. Cancellation and Refund Policy

2.1. Guests may cancel for any reason, with refunds (or credits/date transfers where applicable) provided as follows:

(a) Multi-Day Walks

  • More than seven (7) days before departure: Full refund.
  • Less than seven (7) days before departure: Full refund only if your spot is rebooked; otherwise, a 50% refund or a full credit for a future tour (valid for 12 months).

(b) Day Walks

  • More than twenty-four (24) hours before departure: Full refund or transfer to another available date (subject to availability).
  • Within twenty-four (24) hours of departure: 50% refund assuming the spot is able to be filled, if not then no refund will be issued. Alternatively you may request to transfer to another available date (subject to availability).

(c) Corporate Bookings

  • More than fourteen (21) days before commencement: Full refund of payments made, less any non-recoverable third-party costs already incurred on the client’s behalf.
  • Within fourteen (14) days of commencement: 50% refund, or a full credit (valid for 12 months) to reschedule (subject to availability). Where Bakers Walking Co. is able to rebook the vacated date, a full refund may be issued at the sole discretion of Bakers Walking Co. (less any non-recoverable third-party costs, if applicable).

2.2. Dissatisfaction during or immediately after the tour (within 24 hours) entitles guests to request a full refund. Requests are assessed in good faith on a case-by-case basis.

2.3. Bakers Walking Co. reserves the right to restrict future bookings for those suspected of abusing the refund policy.

2.4. Refunds are processed within 3–5 business days via the original payment method (where available). Credits are issued electronically.

3. Amendments by Bakers Walking Co.

3.1. We reserve the right to alter itineraries or cancel tours due to adverse weather, tide conditions, insufficient bookings, safety concerns, or unforeseen circumstances.

3.2. In case of cancellation by us, guests may choose a reschedule, alternative tour, or full refund.

3.3. Each tour requires a minimum of six (6) confirmed participants and allows a maximum of eight (8). If the minimum number is not met, guests will be notified no later than seven (7) days prior to departure. In this case, guests may:

  • Receive a full refund
  • Reschedule to a later date
  • Transfer to an alternative available tour

4. Participant Requirements and Health

4.1. Participants must disclose health conditions, dietary needs, or other special requirements at booking.

4.2. Guests must have sufficient physical fitness appropriate for walking tours.

4.3. We reserve the right to refuse participation if the guest’s health or behaviour compromises safety or tour enjoyment.

5. Accommodation, Meals, and Services

5.1. Shared accommodation is standard unless otherwise specified. Single occupancy must be prearranged and may incur an additional charge.

5.2. Included meals are specified in the itinerary. Dietary requirements will be accommodated whenever feasible with prior notice.

6. Gear and Equipment

6.1. Guests must ensure they bring essential items as listed on our provided gear checklist. Failure to bring necessary equipment may result in exclusion from activities.

6.2. Some equipment may be loaned upon prior request; availability is not guaranteed.

7. Insurance

7.1. Comprehensive travel insurance, covering cancellations, personal injury, medical expenses, and gear loss/damage, is strongly advised.

8. Liability and Risk Acceptance

8.1. Outdoor activities involve inherent risks, including physical injury, illness, and property damage. Participation acknowledges acceptance of these risks.

8.2. Bakers Walking Co. holds no liability for injuries, loss, damages, or expenses, except to the extent required by law.

9. Guest Conduct

9.1. Participants must behave respectfully towards others, staff, wildlife, and the environment.

9.2. Bakers Walking Co. reserves the right to immediately terminate the participation of any guest whose conduct jeopardises safety, environmental standards, or group enjoyment. Such termination is without refund.

10. Intellectual Property

10.1. Guests agree any photos, videos, or media captured by Bakers Walking Co. staff may be used for promotional purposes without further consent.

10.2. Guests may opt out by notifying Bakers Walking Co. at booking or before tour commencement.

11. Force Majeure

11.1. Bakers Walking Co. accepts no liability or responsibility for delays, cancellations, or disruptions caused by circumstances beyond our control (e.g., natural disasters, pandemics, strikes, or governmental actions).

12. Privacy

12.1. Personal information collected during booking is handled confidentially and solely for administrative and safety purposes. See our Privacy Policy for details.

13. Governing Law

13.1. These Terms and Conditions are governed by and interpreted according to the laws of Tasmania, Australia. Disputes arising shall be resolved under the jurisdiction of Tasmanian courts.
